Visual illusions designer, inventor, and research-based artworks
I am an award-winning creator of optical illusions and a finalist in the "Best Illusion of the Year" contest in 2021 and 2024. My "Oh La La Box" was named "Best Illusion" by *The Sun* newspaper. My creations have been featured on the BBC show *Operation Ouch!*, in science museums worldwide, and in *The Guardian* in an article by Alex Bellos. My work also appears in The Magic Factory’s "Science Is Magic" kit , bringing my illusions to audiences in 52 countries. My work has been exhibited at various institutions, including the National Museum of Mathematics in New York. In the book *Double Take*, published by MIT Press, Annalisa Crannell analyzes three of my illusions from a mathematical perspective, highlighting their connections to projective geometry and the rich intersection of art, mathematics, and visual perception.

"Operation Ouch! Brains, Bogies and You" was an exhibition at the Science and Industry Museum in Manchester that ran from 14 February 2025 until 4 January 2026.
Olivier Redon and Chloe Redon are featured as illusion designers for interactive exhibits in the Science and Industry Museum's Operation Ouch! Brains, Bogies and You exhibition in Manchester. Their work includes participatory sensory illusions such as the "You’ve been shrunk!" interactive, where visitors can take photos using optical illusions designed by Olivier and Chloe Redon. Other exhibits, like face-flip illusions and negative image stares, further explore brain and perception science, connecting Redon's expertise to the core of Operation Ouch!'s educational experiences in Manchester.
